Genuine Parts, the Fortune 500 parent company of auto parts giant NAPA, plans to move to a new headquarters building to be constructed by another metro Atlanta firm, Cousins Properties.
Cousins said this week in a news release it will build a new 150,000-square-foot headquarters for Genuine Parts in Cobb County beginning next year. The property is adjacent to Genuine Parts’ existing shared services facility in the Wildwood area east of I-75.
Genuine Parts has been based on Circle 75 Parkway, near the new Atlanta Braves stadium, since the late 1970s. Genuine Parts raised issues this summer with the Braves’ rezoning for the planned ballpark and entertainment district. The objections related to the location of a parking deck and potential congestion it would cause.
The new building is expected to be completed in summer 2016, Cousins said.
