Information Technology (IT) and software development is one of the most prolific areas in any metropolitan area. Cobb County’s location adjacent to neighboring North Fulton County has created spillover effects, and the two areas are a part of a larger Information Technology and Software cluster that spans across the northern part of the “perimeter” of Metro Atlanta. Travel and Tourism is made up of accommodations, attractions and entertainment, restaurants, and retail—as well as supporting occupations such as coaches, entertainers, and retail salespeople. Georgia welcomed more than 160 million visitors in 2021, resulting in $34.4 billion in direct visitor spending.
