A major business retention and recruitment effort in the City of Acworth in Cobb County, GA has resulted in four locally owned companies consolidating operations into a single headquarters. The consolidation will generate significant economic impact and will anchor the revitalization of a previously underutilized commercial property. Matt Caldwell, President of Caldwell Insulation, recently relocated his four companies to 3102 Cobb Parkway NW. The move keeps the businesses rooted in Cobb County while bringing new investment and increasing commercial activity to the area.
Caldwell Insulation is a family-owned business for 31 years. This company is an industrial contractor focusing on the insulation of piping ductwork and vessels, commonly found on large commercial and industrial projects. Caldwell Insulation is a union contractor with operations in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Texas. Over the last 15 years, the company’s focus has been on healthcare, pharmaceutical, and data center construction. Caldwell Insulation along with its sister companies, Georgia Firestop, Inc., GFI Solutions, Inc., Safety Pro Solutions, Inc., have always been rooted in Cobb County. “When searching for a new headquarters location, company leadership considered several cities throughout the region but ultimately chose to continue investing in Acworth because of its business-friendly environment, supportive community, and outstanding quality of life,” said Caldwell.
The project was the result of a collaborative retention and recruitment effort as Caldwell evaluated potential locations in the region. Ultimately, the companies chose to remain and expand in the City of Acworth. “This year is our 25-year Quality of Life Anniversary and we’re celebrating 25 years of business successes like Caldwell Insulation who call Acworth home. We make it easy for businesses to invest with our promise to make them a successful city partner,” said Mayor Tommy Allegood.
The four companies now operating from the new location include:
- Caldwell Insulation, Inc.– Approximately 350 employees nationwide
- Georgia Firestop, Inc. – Approximately 100 employees nationwide
- GFI Solutions, Inc.– Five employees
- Safety Pro Solutions, Inc.– 10 employees
Combined, the companies represent more than 465 employees and over $60 million in annual gross revenues. In addition to consolidating operations, Caldwell has made substantial investments in both interior and exterior improvements to the property, further enhancing the corridor and contributing to the area’s continued economic vitality.
During the relocation process, Caldwell, along with some of his business partners, launched a new business, GFI Critical Systems, Inc., further demonstrating continued entrepreneurial investment in Cobb County. “Caldwell Insulation is exactly the kind of homegrown success story we fight to keep in Cobb County; a thriving local company that chose to plant deeper roots here rather than look elsewhere,” said Dana Johnson, Executive Director of SelectCobb. “Watching them breathe new life into a corridor that needed it, with the full support of the City of Acworth, is what this work is all about.”
